FAMILY FUN DAY 2015

Cardboard Boat Regatta Rules
  1. CONSTRUCTION:
    1. Boats must be made ONLY of corrugated cardboard and duct tape. NO reinforced cardboard tubes, only broken down cardboard boxes.
    2. Cardboard cannot be sealed with any paint or sealants.
    3. Duct tape may be of varying colors for creativity but must have come manufactured in that color.
    4. Boats may be a maximum width of 60”  (5 ft) and a maximum length of  84”  (7 ft).
    5. Boats must be completely enclosed with sides all around, of at least 6 inches.  This makes it a boat, not a raft. The crew must remain fully on top of the vessel without dangling extremities.
    6. Boats must be propelled by the use of hands and/or paddles.
    7. If any illegal items used in construction are discovered, the boat will be disqualified.
  2. RACE RULES:
    1. During competition, crew must be IN the boat, not towing it, or holding it between their legs, swimming, or kicking.
    2. Throwing water on another boat is reason for disqualification, unless said water comes from the incidental splash of a paddle or other propulsive device.
    3. Sunken, discarded and used boats must be disposed of in designated trash receptacle.
  3. Have Fun!
    1. The Race Starts 3 p.m. on Saturday June 7, check in starts at 2:30 p.m.    We will do races for 1 and 2 person teams.
    2. If you have small paddles, please bring them.
    3. Life jackets are encouraged for smaller children, please bring them along with you.
    4. Also, if you would kindly send an email and let us know you plan to join in for the boat race
Cakes for cakewalk

Here is an easy and inexpensive way to get six cakes out of the following:
• two (3 packs) of 8x8 disposable aluminum pans
• three boxes of cake mix
• two cans of frosting
• toppings of your choice (gummy sharks, M&Ms, reese pieces, etc)

This should cost less than $10. Mix the cake mix and pour half into each 8x8 disposable cake pan. Bake, frost and decorate. Please include in sharpie or label on the lid (comes with the pans), the flavor of the cake and frosting.

Please do not bring plates or pans or utensils that need to be washed and returned to you. People will be leaving with their cakes. You won’t ever see grandma’s prized cake pan again.

Also, donuts, cupcakes and cookies are acceptable, as are purchased pies and cakes.

The more cakes we have, the more cake walks we can run!
