Agenda
- Call to Order and Introductions: Pres. Amy Bunch discussed the need for new officers:
If you are interested in serving as Membership Director, there is an immediate need for the 2022 season. The 2022 summer season will also be the last season for much of the Executive Board. Many have served for 3 or more years now. These Board members are all volunteers with full times jobs and families. They have generously offered to train their replacements during the 2022 season. If you are interested in serving on the Board, please look at the descriptions of the roles on page 3 of the by-laws here and contact the Board at: board@southdownpool.org. The Board is a great way to get to know your neighbors and fellow swimmers. - President’s Report (Amy Bunch)
- 2021 Recap: President Amy Bunch detailed a successful 2021 season. We grew the pool membership from 175 member families to 225 families allowed in 2022, we increased the size of the swim team, brought back water aerobics, held cook outs, adult music night and had food trucks.
- 2022 Priorities and Initiatives: in the off season we will issue an RFP for a new pool management company. Our previous contract with American Pool expired. Nastya Jacobson will not be returning as pool manager. We will miss her but she graduates from U. MD with a teaching degree. She will remain with the swim team.

- Swim Team Updates (Michelle Fransen)
- Readout of 2021 season: 3 virtual meets at home with the Central MD Swim League. We were in Division 8 and attended an in-person meet Championship. The Southdown Sharks WON ALL MEETS and the CHAMPIONSHIP! The team held a movie camp-out, end of year picnic and had a record 88 swimmers!
- Upcoming changes for 2022 season: joining a more local league: the Grater Annapolis Swim League. No more meets in Timonium and far flung corners of the County. Season will start in 2nd Saturday of June and ends end of July. Will allow swimmers to compete against schoolmates. Allows non-pool members to join team, but careful consideration will be given to this arrangement and proposed at the spring meeting or for the 2023 season.
